🔥 GHOST RIDER 3: HELL’S ENGINE (2026)
Full Plot Summary (Long Version)
ACT 1 — THE RETURN OF THE DAMNED
Years after giving up the Ghost Rider curse, Johnny Blaze has been living in isolation in the deserts of Nevada. Believing the Spirit of Vengeance has fully left him, Johnny tries to live a quiet life as a mechanic.
But when a series of mysterious supernatural explosions tear across the American Southwest — melting roads, incinerating vehicles, and leaving trails of hellfire — Johnny is approached by Dr. Helena Armitage, a paranormal researcher.
Her warning:
“Hell is building a machine. And they need a Rider to stop it.”
The explosions, she reveals, come from a demonic construction known as Hell’s Engine, a colossal infernal machine capable of tearing open a permanent gateway between Hell and Earth.
The mastermind behind it is Asmodeus, a fallen archdemon who seeks to overthrow Mephisto and unleash Hell onto the living world.
Johnny refuses… until a demonic biker gang known as the Blight Reapers attacks a nearby town, slaughtering innocents and marking the streets with hellfire sigils.
In a moment of desperation, the Spirit of Vengeance reignites inside Johnny.
He becomes the Ghost Rider once more.
ACT 2 — THE BLAZE RETURNS
Johnny hunts down the Blight Reapers, discovering they are led by Caldera, a sadistic demon queen who fuels her soldiers by stealing human souls with molten chains.
During a brutal fight across a burning scrapyard, Ghost Rider defeats her lieutenants but Caldera escapes — leaving behind a fragment of the Hell’s Engine: an obsidian gear scorched with infernal runes.
Helena studies the gear and reveals the truth:
- Hell’s Engine is being built using stolen souls
- When completed, it will merge Earth and Hell
- The only thing strong enough to destroy its heart is the combined power of two Ghost Riders
Johnny realizes he isn’t the only Rider left.
ACT 3 — THE NEW RIDER
Enter Robbie Reyes, the younger and more brutal Ghost Rider. Robbie has been struggling to control his demon, Eli Morrow, who pushes him toward darker acts of vengeance.
Johnny and Robbie clash when Johnny attempts to recruit him. Their confrontation erupts into a blazing battle on the Las Vegas Strip, with cars exploding and hellfire carving through hotel signs.
Robbie nearly kills Johnny — until Helena intervenes, telling them the truth:
Eli Morrow was once an assassin serving Asmodeus. Robbie’s curse is part of Asmodeus’s plan.
Realizing their destinies are linked, Johnny and Robbie form an uneasy alliance.
Together they track Hell’s Engine to a hidden military testing site in Death Valley — now twisted into a demonic forge where souls are being tortured into raw power.
ACT 4 — HELL’S ENGINE AWAKENS
Hell’s Engine is revealed as a massive biomechanical monstrosity: part locomotive, part furnace, part living demon — powered by thousands of screaming souls.
Caldera, acting as its high priestess, merges herself with the machine, becoming its infernal conductor.
Asmodeus arrives and unleashes his plan:
- Use Hell’s Engine to dethrone Mephisto
- Merge all realms
- Crown himself ruler of both Hell and Earth
A massive battle begins.
Johnny fights Asmodeus in a swirling vortex of hellfire.
Robbie infiltrates Hell’s Engine to free the trapped souls.
Helena attempts to sever the demonic chains powering the machine.
Inside the furnace, Robbie confronts Eli Morrow, who manifests physically, trying to take over Robbie completely.
ACT 5 — THE FINAL RIDE
Johnny is nearly defeated until he unleashes the Penance Stare, weakening Asmodeus by forcing him to relive every soul he has damned.
Robbie, facing Eli, chooses self-sacrifice — burning his own life force to trap Eli inside Hell’s Engine’s core.
Ghost Rider Johnny enters the Engine, finding Robbie fused into the heart of the machine.
Robbie says:
“End it. Before Hell ends us.”
With a final combined blast of hellfire, Johnny and Robbie ignite the Engine from within — causing a cataclysmic explosion that collapses the Hell Gate and destroys Hell’s Engine entirely.
The shockwave eradicates Caldera and banishes Asmodeus back into the deepest pit of Hell.
Johnny emerges from the wreckage, burnt and battered but alive.
Robbie’s body is gone… but a single burning tire mark appears behind Johnny — suggesting Robbie’s spirit still rides somewhere between worlds.
EPILOGUE — THE NEXT VENGEANCE
Johnny rides off into the desert, believing the age of Ghost Riders may finally be ending.
But Helena approaches him one last time.
She reveals a terrifying new prophecy:
“Hell’s Engine was only Phase One.
Mephisto is preparing a war of his own.”
The final shot shows Mephisto watching Johnny from a throne of living fire.
He smiles wickedly.
“Let the Riders come.”
