When rescuers first encountered this dog, it was difficult to understand what was really happening beneath his enormous, tangled coat. His fur had become so severely matted and compacted that his entire body appeared unusually large and misshapen.

A Coat That Had Become a Serious Problem
Instead of remaining soft and separated, the dog’s hair had formed dense masses across much of his body. Severe matting can pull on the skin, trap moisture and dirt, restrict movement, and make ordinary grooming uncomfortable.
